Samuel Dishon

Samuel Dishon, originally from Irvine, CA, has garnered national and international recognition, including solo performance engagements across the United States, Switzerland, and Belgium. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has been recognized as a top prize winner in the MTNA, Fischoff, and Briggs competitions.

Outside of his work with the Cerus Quartet, Samuel has performed as an orchestral musician with the University of Michigan Contemporary Directions Ensemble and University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra (USO). In May of 2025 with the USO, he made his Carnegie Hall debut, performing on their tour of New York City and South Africa. Additionally, Samuel was a featured soloist with the Euclid Symphony Orchestra where he performed Alexander Glazunov’s Saxophone Concerto after winning their young artist concerto competition.

Samuel is currently pursuing Master’s Degrees in Saxophone Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Michigan where he is studying with internationally acclaimed saxophonist, Timothy McAllister. Alongside the saxophone, Samuel is passionate about the business side of the music industry and is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship and Leadership. Samuel graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of Michigan in 2024. He is an avid educator and maintains a private studio in the Ann Arbor area.
